Mackie and Juliet Root

We're a husband-and-wife team of fitness professionals and board-certified nutritionists with over 25 years of combined experience. Juliet owned and operated gyms in Philadelphia for more than a decade, the lab where we refined our craft and coached thousands of people to real, lasting results. Mackie went on to produce digital fitness content for some of the largest brands in the industry, and along the way we trained high-level athletes, executives, and celebrity clients in New York City, including a Grammy-winning singer during a concert tour.

We've never stopped learning, adding certifications in Olympic weightlifting, yoga, online training, and the psychology of eating. Today we bring that same coaching into the home, helping clients build strength, improve longevity, and feel capable for the life they want to live.

We also walk the talk. From ultramarathons to big mountain adventures like the Alta Via 1 in the Dolomites and the Tour du Mont Blanc, we train for the same long-term strength, endurance, and resilience we help our clients build. Our goal is simple: to help you stay strong, capable, and ready for whatever comes next.

Do you bring equipment, or do I need my own?

Most of our clients train in their own home gym, anything from a full rack and barbell to a pair of dumbbells and a bench is enough to work with. If you're still building your setup, or haven't started yet, helping you put together a smart home gym around your goals is part of what we do.

What do I do on the days you're not training me?

Your in-person sessions are backed by a full training program you follow between visits, delivered through our online coaching system, so your progress doesn't stop when we leave. We'll walk through exactly how that works, and what's included, during your consult.

What areas around Boulder do you serve?

We provide in-home personal training throughout Boulder, Colorado and the immediate surrounding area. If you're just outside Boulder, mention your location in your application and we'll let you know.

What does in-home personal training cost?

Pricing depends on the frequency and structure that fits your goals, which we'll walk through during your free consult. We keep a small client roster, so every plan is built individually rather than sold off a menu.

Why do you only take a limited number of clients?

Private, in-home coaching at a high standard takes real time and attention per client. Keeping the roster small is how we protect the quality of the work, not a marketing gimmick.

Can you train me for a specific goal, like a race or a climb?

Yes, that's where we do our best work. We've coached clients toward Hyrox podiums, mountain-guide certification, and summits like Kilimanjaro, and we're ultra runners ourselves. Whatever you're working toward, we build the training around that goal specifically.
